Fun fact about fishing in the Poconos. An angler can visit the Poconos region for an entire month and never fish the same water twice. A Pennsylvania fishing license is required for anyone 16 years old and older ( if not fishing at a designated pay lake). Different types of permits can be purchased online, in person or by mail. Find out how through the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. Licenses can also be obtained at any Pennsylvania sporting goods, outdoor or similar store that is a Licensing Agent of the Commission, County Treasurer offices or Fish and Boat Commission offices.
